Queen of Nostalgia

One year ago today, I was so happy to be spending my very last TOTS Tuesday with some of my favorite Hokies.

With it being almost a WHOLE YEAR (I seriously cannot believe that is real) since I’ve graduated, I’ve been struck with (even more than usual) nostalgia.

As you may or may not know, the four years I spent in Blacksburg were easily the best four years of my life. I loved my friends, my sorority, my school & Hokie football! 

After turning 21 my junior year, I also came to love this little place on College Avenue called Top of the Stairs (better known as TOTS). I spent many karaoke TOTS Tuesdays (and Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays) here making some of the best memories with my favorite people. TOTS was like my own little Cheers, sometimes you just wanna go where everybody knows your name.

You don’t arrive at Virginia Tech accidentally. You have to work to get there, journeying into the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s lovely, picturesque, and seems very far away from the dangers of the outside world. There is a collective strength of spirit there that feels quite different from other campuses we visit. It’s a big school … but it feels like a tight community. That spirit seems to endure long after students leave Blacksburg—once a Hokie, always a Hokie.
